McKesson is seeking a Data Governance Analyst in Richmond, VA within a newly-established Data and Advanced Analytics organization. The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Medical-Surgical data governance program. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare data governance, as well as experience with HIPAA, HITECH, CCPA, GDPR, and SOX compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a data governance and compliance program, associated structures and processes for Med-Surgical in partnership with MT and legal-compliance office.
  • Identify risk and priority areas for data governance within Med-Surgical.
  • Provide guidance and support to business on governance and compliance matters.
  • Enforce data governance policies and procedures in partnership with McKesson Technology (MT). Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, such as HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA.
  • Follow regulatory changes and anticipate changes and work with MT and compliance office to manage compliance.
  • Represent the organization to stakeholders on data governance and compliance matters.
  • Work through influencing and collaboration to improve compliance.
  • Design programs for educating the business.
  • Suggest technology and architecture for governing data

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business administration, information systems, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in data governance and compliance, with a focus on healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture and data systems and technology. Knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes data analytics and data modeling.
  • Strong understanding of applicable regulations like HIPAA, HITECH, GDPR,CPRA and CCPA.
  • Excellent project management skills- track record in creating structures for governance and compliance.
  • Understand the business context in which data is being used. This includes understanding the organization's goals, objectives, and risks.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing data governance and compliance programs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences is essential. They should be able to explain complex technical and legal concepts in a clear and concise way.
  • Influencing style of leadership. Collaboration first and peer/ team enablement mindset.
  • Problem-solver with skills to identify and solve problems related to data governance, and develop a plan to mitigate the risks of a new data project.
  • Ability to work independently, hands on and as part of a team. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to travel domestically for meetings (approximately 10%)

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered. 

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$92,000 - $153,400
