The Team

S&P Global’s EMEA Ratings Infrastructure Practice has an Associate/Associate Director opening in London. You will be part of the EMEA team comprising infrastructure and project finance rating analysts based in the EMEA region including London, Madrid, Paris and Dubai.

You will establish yourself as an analyst with a focus on excellence in analytics both in terms of quality and timelines, and client service to investors and issuers. Besides the direct responsibility for your own portfolio, you will be extensively involved in the analysis of infrastructure entities across the EMEA region and global benchmarking. To this effect, you will be working closely with a number of highly experienced industry specialists. You will report into a UK based infrastructure Lead Analyst and indirectly into the Head of EMEA Infrastructure Ratings.

Responsibilities

  • Owning the analytical oversight of a portfolio of infrastructure and project finance entities.
  • Researching information that supports the company-specific analysis and peer commentaries.
  • Producing and processing data, information and financial projections, running credit models, analysing cash flows.
  • Reviewing transaction documents.
  • Providing concise and high quality analytical reasoning in internal and external reports as well as when presenting to senior team members, clients and investors.
  • Spearheading problem solving in order to foster a continuous improvement mentality.
  • Developing and maintain a deep understanding of the industry trends and issues. 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor degree holder of Business, Economics, Finance or Engineering, or a related subject. A master’s degree is desirable.
  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have at least 3-5 years of credit expertise at Associate level and 5 + years experience at Associate Director level. This will typically be from a financial institution in the field of infrastructure and energy and ideally with some Project Finance exposure. 
  • Deep understanding of financial analysis and accounting, as well as ability to prepare detailed forecasts and modelling.
  • Experience with and/or ability to master reviewing of legal transaction documentation.
  • Strong written, communication, and presentation skills in English.
  • Excellent time management skills and drive for execution and manage deadlines.
  • Strong team player and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.

Grade Level: 11 or 12 (for internal purposes)
