Ratings Data Management-Data Associate

The Role: As a Data Associate you will be responsible for the research and management of S&P Corporate & Government, Structured Finance and U.S. Public Finance ratings data—ensuring quality, completeness and integrity. You’ll be tasked with executing current processes, utilizing various applications and adhering to regulatory requirements and internal business rules. You’ll work to enhance day-to-day operations to improve accuracy and efficiency. The position will exemplify “best in class” customer support and service ensuring strong communication and professionalism are followed.

The Impact: Provide a vital connection between S&P Global Ratings data and international markets by ensuring quality data for consumption by downstream products and investors.

Responsibilities:

• Capturing, validating, and processing data while building relevant connections between different types of system architecture
• Advise on general questions and inquiries and act as the 'SME' (Subject Matter Expert) during technology or data related incidents and requests in a timely manner
• Support enhancement/changes to data & technology procedures as well as their implementation
• Interact and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders as necessary and work on project requirements and data gathering, analysis and enhancement initiatives as needed
• Collaborate with colleagues globally to ensure consistency in carrying out data related responsibilities

What we're looking for:

• Strong understanding of the financial markets (Corporate, Financial Services, Sovereigns, Structured Finance and USPF), knowledge of Credit Rating process preferred
• Advanced Problem Solving, Analysis and Project Management Skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a particular focus on customer service
• Microsoft Office skills to include Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• SQL, TOAD, VBA, experience with Python or other languages a plus
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage, take initiative and meet deadlines without supervision
• 1-2 years of experience within a financial services environment in Operations and/or Technology/Data Organization
• BA/BS – preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Mathematics, or equivalent experience
