Peraton’s DSCM program encompasses technical, engineering, data analytics, cyber security, management, operational, logistical and administrative support to aid and advise DoS Cyber & Technology Security (CTS) Directorate. This includes protecting a global cyber infrastructure comprising networks, systems, information, and mobile devices all while identifying and responding to cyber risks and threats. Those supporting Peraton’s DSCM program strive to leverage their expert knowledge and propose creative solutions to real-world cybersecurity challenges.

Peraton is currently seeking an experienced Senior Information Technology Security Engineer to become a part of Peraton’s Department of State (DoS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program.

Location: Rosslyn, VA or Belsville, MD. This is a hybrid role.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide expertise in evaluation, design and integration of Network Security monitoring solutions for a globally diverse network. 
  • Interface with internal and external organization to understand network design and configurations to develop the best solution for enhancing cyber monitoring capabilities. 
  • Conduct research and evaluation of vendor offering and support the design and implementation of the next generation of defensive monitoring tools. 
  • Support the development of procedures for managing and enhancing the capabilities in the solution and will support the integration with other department tools to increase defensive capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Minimum of 14 years with BS/BA; OR 12 years with MS/MA; OR 9 years with PhD
  • ONE of the following certifications required: CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH
  • Experience with network design, network monitoring, and software systems and technologies that demonstrate the ability to monitor and defend an enterprise network
  • Knowledge of networking and cloud technologies
  • Experience conducting market research for cyber monitoring tools and applications
  • Strong communication skills and leadership capability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 
  • Active Secret security clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Strong knowledge of security monitoring tools with experience developing detection capabilties
  • Experience with Intrusion Detection/Prevention System
  • Understanding of network encryption
