What you'll do

As a Fiber Planning & Optimization Engineer, you will take responsibility of the local activities related to Fiber Planning & Optimization. You will deliver detailed planning & design for fixed Access, Fiber Optic Connectivity (FOC) design for corporate customers & Public Sector (Syzefxis project), FOC Design for fronthaul or backhaul needs. 

Key accountabilities and decision ownership: 

  • Detailed Planning and detailed Optimization
  • Design the corporate connectivity and deliver the cost and technical study of feasibility requests related to EBU customers, Public sector (i.e Syzefxis)
  • Define the guidelines for Detailed Planning of Fiber and Cable networks and mobile Radio & Backhauling.
  • Preparation of the relevant FO design documents & updating the relevant drawings
  • Ensure best in class network optimization according to Network innovation roadmap
  • Define Capacity Mgmt. Guidelines & Share best practices on fixed access congestion mgmt. & legacy shutdown
  • Act as a interface to NSE for last mile & backhauling requests in order to serve country specific demands 
  • Design network last mile detailed access network plans based on engineering and commercial inputs, local priorities and Vodafone strategy
  • Fiber Optic Network Cabling dimensioning and capacity management for Fixed Aggregation Networks
  • Last Mile access optimization and performance detailed activities.

Who you are

  • A bachelor’s degree in University
  • English language (Fluent oral and written)
  • Experience in Fiber Optic connectivity or Fixed Access Networks 
  • In-depth knowledge of the following networking technologies: Fiber Optic Networks, Aggregation (Layer2) 
  • Relevant Networking related certifications are desirable and will be considered a plus
  • Ability/experience in using map editing/GIS platform/Microstation or Autocad
  • Experience of managing the relation with Vendors and Subcontractors 
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize job requirements. Ability to cope with complex projects and tight deadlines 
  • Self-motivated (takes initiative)
  • Build Trust. Take risks, push what is possible, looking for improvement 
  • Think Simple. Focus effort and challenge complexity and provide simpler solutions. Communicate in a way that is easy to understand
