Role purpose:

Technical Manager’s mission is to drive, the Technical Division of Fiberco to meet the FTTH development business plan and Vodafone strategy. 

TM is leading teams of Fixed Access Engineering, FTTH Design, Deployment, O&M.

The role requires a broad aspect of implementing “Build -Operate & Run” of NGA (FTTC/FTTH) National Network. Plan, develop and implement strategy by ensuring Time To Market, cost-effectiveness and quality of delivery according to H&S guidelines including in life contract management ( supplier KPI/SLA/Commercial/vouchers/credits ) and procurement and logistic activities to ensure successful deployment of solutions.

Lead, Manage, motivate, coach, and develop own team to ensure the highest level of performance at all times.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Manages network design projects & local rollout deployment projects e.g NGA (FTTH) according to technical guidelines 
  • Manage, Coordinate & Drive subcontractors for the project execution
  • Ensure that guidelines, standards & procedures on H&S are met on field. Track and report safety audits & safety issues 
  • Harmonize according to the local legislation, contractor controls, employee controls, and KPIs
  • Optimize the “cost model” and rollout efficiency by ensuring optimal partner & contract setup and providing best in class guidelines on technical process
  • Overall responsibility for the Operation & Maintenance of Fixed Access network ensuring wholesale customers have full availability 24/7/365 at the required standards to drive customer satisfaction and revenue target achievement
  • Drive Third parties Vendor Strategy across countries by defining sourcing and contract management guidelines as well as performing vendor controls

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

  • A 3 years’ experience in Telecom Networks 
  • Excellent understanding of the telecommunications market 
  • Technical experience in multinational companies and large matrix organisations
  • Experience in a senior management role- managing disperse teams 
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-changing environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize job requirements. Ability to cope with complex projects and tight deadlines 
  • Self-motivated (takes initiative)
  • Build Trust. Take risks, push what is possible and look for improvement all the time. Effective problem resolution
  • Think Simple. Focus effort and challenge complexity and provide simpler solutions. Communicate in a way that is easy to understand 

Must have professional qualifications:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree preferably in Telecommunications 
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, in both Greek and English.
