What You'll Do

The Sr. Director, IT Operations & Business Applications is an integral member of our Business Operations & Media and Technology Support team, reporting to the VP of IT Operations & Business Applications. The role is responsible for managing the Application Engineering team and focusing on maintaining cross-functional priorities and responsibilities supporting both Business Operations and Technology Operations to meet outlined objectives and key outcomes across the organization. This includes maintaining operational efficiency of our business and technology services across our portfolio of Media Management platforms (SBMS, Spectra OX and Prisma) and liaising with stakeholders from our Media, Financial, Technology and Business Operations teams. The Director is also responsible for managing all service and operating levels through ServiceNow across all lines of business for our extensive portfolio of business-critical services. Operational support includes but is not limited to: proactive internal client assistance and guidance, problem analysis, tracking issues through resolution, comprehensive reporting and identifying actionable measures for continuous improvement. The Director must oversee the Application Engineering team on commitments, communicate effectively with stakeholders and strive to improve upon the best practices of the department to provide strategic value and achieve business goals alongside the more tactical elements of service-desk operation, such as ITSM principles and Agile Scrum methodologies. 

Priorities and Responsibilities – 40%

Work closely across all lines of business, including Finance, Shared Services, HR, Legal, Client & Brand Operations, Application Development, Project Management, Business Operations, Infrastructure, and other technology partners (internal and external) to provide production support, governance, and change release management of an extensive portfolio of business & media applications while ensuring the team is operating at peak performance.

Drive technical priorities and owns service operational excellence and support responsibility for one or more application or platform teams. The Director is also responsible for building new efficiency to our enterprise digital transformation operations and must poses in-depth technical knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and modules including the ITSM, ITOM, and ITAM as well as CMDB, including maturing the CMDB practice, experience with new ServiceNow module deployment and integrating other systems and apps with ServiceNow. Perform analysis of impacts for new requirements and contributes to governance processes, including Quarterly business reviews internally.

Activities of the Application Engineering team include but are not limited to: Application monitoring and health check to assure system availability and performance, user query and production incident handling, triage application performance issues, QA/UAT validation, application access management, capacity planning in carrying out the production duties.

Business Relationship & Change Management – 20%

Support change management by way of risk analysis and assessment of impact on services, robust communication and stakeholder alignment for organizational awareness and seamless transition of new system releases, launches, enhancements, architecture changes with the goal of maintaining business continuity throughout the entire change cycle.

Establish and maintain client satisfaction through analyzing KPIs and factors affecting client dissatisfaction.

Participate in and drive collaborative efforts to advance tools, technology, and ways of working to better serve an evolving client base.

Responsible for development and execution of robust technology project deliverables, defining mitigation plans and tracking notable milestones.

Team Management and Development – 20%

Build a community of inclusiveness and allyship, fostering an innovative and creative environment for team members to align personal performance with organizational values.

Guide team in setting goals and professional development timelines, ensure team members have challenging, level-appropriate projects and opportunities to expand professional agility.

Ensure team members have training and support needed to achieve development goals, participate in developing learning agendas for all levels.

Serve as a resource for performance conversations, coaching to maximize success, identifying training needs for improved performance, setting goals for career development. 

Manage day-to-day activities of Application Engineering team members – (2) Application Support Managers and (3) Application Support Specialists

Manage team schedules and rotational shift coverage to support both NY and LA offices.

IT Security Compliance – 10%

Develop and ensure adherence to the agency’s security and compliance processes and guidelines.

Design new and revise existing technical control details both for the benefit of team knowledge management and for annual and quarterly production SOC audit requirements.

Reporting – 10%

Generate insightful reporting solutions by way of developing dynamic dashboards and data visualizations for executive consumption.

Provide Sr. Management and group leaders with comprehensive reporting of performance and efficiency to accelerate IT value streams.

Extract and analyze data to identify areas of improvement for business operational transformation initiatives.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience with a strong understanding of the Advertising and Media industry, specializing in Mediaocean Prisma (Spectra OX), Strata/Freewheel SBMS and VIEW preferred.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Architecture including Incident Management, Knowledge management, Service Catalog design, Process optimization, Dashboard development and Reporting on KPI’s.
  • Experience with managing innovative internal technology communications, IT announcements, Newsletters, and incident response alerts.
  • Business Professionalism - Exhibits a high degree of accountability, clear and concise communication, manages tasks and follows up continuously; demonstrates integrity.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to self-manage and prioritize support requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Strong desire and passion to establish and maintain relationships with other departments across the organization as well as with external vendors and partners.
  • Project Management or Scrum experience is required.
  • Oracle NetSuite Support Experience is a plus.

Years of Experience

8+ years of experience preferred.

Salary Range

$140,000.00 - $170,000.00

A successful applicant’s actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure/certifications, and equity.
