The New York Post Features Department is looking for a full-time Health Writer (M-F) plugged into the world of health, fitness, diet and wellness. This individual must be a self-starter with excellent health contacts and exclusive access to embargoed studies, as well as the ability to break down complicated information and statistics into lively, relatable and informative copy. The candidate will be expected to write breaking health news on deadline, while reporting out an array of fascinating health-related features. This might include digging into the debate over a controversial wellness topic; finding real people to discuss personal health struggles; and debunking myths and offering science-backed tips for healthier living.

Responsibilities:

  • Report and write breaking health news for nypost.com, as well as feature articles of varying lengths
  • Generate a continuous stream of pitches with timely news pegs and fresh angles
  • Produce lively, informative and well-sourced copy on deadline

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience as a health writer
  • Proficiency in WordPress or similar CMS, Photoshop and web analytics preferred
  • Ability to work a full-time M-F schedule, with some flexibility in scheduling

Note: The NY Post adheres to a hybrid work model.

Salary Range: $32,100 – $125,000
