Job Description:

Resident Consultants are Broadcom’s most experienced professional services consultants who provide thought leadership and hands-on technical expertise to our most important customers. They are Trusted Advisors that our customers depend on for strategy, product insight, technical architecture, mentoring, and when needed, leading by example for deployment, configuration, and integration of Broadcom solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing:

During the course of a typical week, a Resident Consultant might work with senior-level customer leadership to understand their IT challenges and work with architects to design a solution, then work with frontline customer support personnel to identify the root cause of an outage, and spend time analyzing the performance of the Broadcom solution and developing configurations to improve performance. Resident Consultants also regularly share their customer’s needs with Broadcom product managers and have access to experienced technical support engineers. Residents are continually learning - maintaining ongoing awareness of new Broadcom solution functionality and overall IT domain knowledge, and disseminating that knowledge to their customers and teams.

We look for the following in a Resident Consultant:

  • Trusted Advisor. You're viewed – and sought out – as a source of valued advice and support by your customers and coworkers. Simply put, they trust you, and they value your advice.
  • Consulting Acumen. It is essential you have experience managing customers to help them achieve outcomes, and that you have the emotional intelligence that makes a good consultant, along with self-awareness around that intelligence such that you can teach it to others. Persuasive arguments and engagement-level leadership skills are a must.
  • Leadership. Leverage strategic thinking and your ability to understand the market, our customers and our environment to help us focus on the right work and to approach everything from the customer’s perspective. Be the activator who drives us to dive in with an eye toward getting to real value quickly.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills. We value and encourage public speaking engagements and expect that you’re comfortable talking to software and executive teams and large audiences. You will also develop industry thought leadership, in the form of talks, articles and whitepapers, in partnership with other departments.
  • Facilitation Skills. Whether we are teaching a class or supporting critical leadership conversations, we take a strong facilitation approach to everything we do. It is essential that as a Broadcom Resident, you are a strong and experienced facilitator.
  • Training Acumen. We want our customers to be empowered to use our solutions, and that means training them. You will value and use an interactive and facilitative teaching approach.
  • Creative Problem Solving. You see a problem as an opportunity to grow and are motivated to find solutions, thereby focusing on growth and achieving positive results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the analysis, feasibility, and design of Clarity ValueOps solutions – highly experienced in Agile methodologies.
  • Have a deep and comprehensive understanding of the technical & operational context in which Clarity is being used by the customer.
  • Know the differences as to how the different customer business units are organized, operate, and use Clarity and be able to assess the impacts to adoption of the ValueOps journeys
  • Support the customer with deployment/adoption of the Clarity ValueOps solution.
  • Help define the solution/architecture needed to plug into the customer’s end-to-end ValueOps solution
  • Makes (Clarity) design/implementation decisions as related to the implementation of the Clarity/ValueOps solution at the customer.
  • Helps prioritize the solution/features/processes that are needed by the customer. Where needed, acts as the conduit to funnel gaps into the Product Management development pipeline.
  • Acts as the Senior (Clarity) Technology Expert to evangelize and negotiate the "common ground" of the Clarity/ValueOps implementation at the customer.
  • Addresses the Clarity upgrade implications and advocates for it across the highest levels of client leadership
  • Be an integral contributor to help foster tooling implementation and adoption working side by side with the ValueOps, Services, and Rally counter-parts.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree and 12+ years of related technical domain experience – required.
  • Extensive experience with architecting, implementing and managing Clarity – required.
  • Deep understanding of delivering business value through IT software solutions – expected.
