Job Description

Aramark is seeking a Counsel – Employment Law & Litigation position at Aramark’s headquarters in Philadelphia. This role will support Aramark’s Employment Law, Litigation & Government Affairs Team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee investigation of and response to administrative agency charges filed with the EEOC and equivalent state/local agencies alleging violations of employment laws.
  • Handle/oversee litigation, attorney demand letters, and government investigations related to employment practices liability and wage and hour claims.
  • Provide sound counsel, legal advice and strategic support on a number of federal, state and local employment law matters which may include the ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FCRA, FLSA, OFCCP, prevailing wage, Title VII, WARN, E.O. 11246 and USERRA.
  • Support Aramark’s affirmative recovery program and assist with other areas of litigation as needed.
  • Provide legal support for Aramark’s hiring processes including, but not limited to, pre-employment screenings, background checks, drug testing, fingerprinting, DOT requirements and Form I-9s.
  • Serve as a business partner and provide advice and counsel to Human Resources staff and management on a variety of employment law issues.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze employment law and litigation-related issues which impact the business.
  • Stay abreast of new and changing employment laws, human resource practices and trends. 
  • Other duties as may be requested by the Employment Law, Litigation & Government Affairs Team.

Qualifications

  • J.D. required.
  • At least 1-4 years of legal experience. Relevant experience preferred, but not required.
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organization skills, with persistence and professionalism.
  • Ability to work and think independently, possessing sound problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Responsive and client-service focused.
  • Willingly accepts additional responsibility, challenging tasks, and/or projects.
  • Strong drafting, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Fully proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
