Tetra Tech International Development is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a potential Chief of Party position on a USAID-funded Ukraine - OEG: New Agriculture – Harvest Activity in Ukraine.

The Activity aims to enable male and female grain and oilseed farmers, including marginalized and underserved groups, to return production of important food export crops to the pre-war levels while improving production efficiency and profitability, and will position farmers to market their crops more successfully and profitably.

This will be a long-term position (with a five-year project duration estimate) and will be based in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Responsibilities:

The Chief of Party (COP) will serve as the primary point of contact with USAID/Ukraine regarding day-to-day implementation and management matters relating to the contract, ensure activities and results are implemented in a timely manner within the approved budget, ensure the quality control of all activities and deliverables performed under the contract, and provide a strategic vision for the activity to make sustainable progress while balancing the interest of various stakeholders and ensuring benefits of the interventions reach the target population in the selected territories.

Qualifications:

  • Masters’ degree from an accredited college or university in relevant fields such as development, economics, agriculture, rural development, business administration or a similar field; or a bachelor’s degree in similar fields with at least 12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of the master’s degree;
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing complex development or private sector projects;
  • Prior experience with and working knowledge of US government administrative and financial policies, procedures, rules and regulations;
  • Relevant experience working in sustainable rural development, economic development, private sector development, small and medium agri-business development, conflict/ transitional post-conflict and vulnerable climate areas, alliance building activities and/or related fields;
  • Knowledge of economic-growth, agribusiness in a developing country and reconstruction context, and experience forming effective and productive relationships with relevant stakeholder counterparts, both public and private. Knowledge and experience of the current Ukrainian socio-economic, political and agribusiness context will be considered as a plus;
  • Demonstrated track record of collaborating and communicating successfully at a professional and senior level with the US Government, with officials at all relevant levels of host country governments, private sector enterprises, as well as other donors;
  • Fluent spoken, written and reading abilities in English;
  • Working proficiency of spoken, written, and reading in Ukrainian preferred;
  • Ukraine Nationals and women are strongly encouraged to apply.
