Your responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to fulfil the job as summarised below, but not limited to:

• Develop wiring diagrams in Smart Plant Instrumentation, AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Design of field Instrumentation, including the layout of control panels, marshalling racks, equipment racks, junction boxes, PLC cabinets, DCS systems, Instrument location drawings, hook-up drawings, cable block diagrams.
• Develop bills of material for the complete installation of the control and instrumentation scope.
• Development of instrument specifications and data sheets.
• Procurement of field instrumentation.

Your profile

The candidate must be in possession of a national technical diploma, a national trade test for instrument mechanicians or minimum of 10 years’ experience in an Instrument petrochemical design environment.

Design experience. Computer packages, ‘Intools’ (Instrument design package), Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Access).

The candidate must be experienced in the following fields:

• 15 years control system and safety system engineering and design experience in the Oil & Gas environment.
• Knowledge of and understanding of SABS / IEC standards.
• The ability to interpret MFDs and P&IDs.
