Overview:

Alliant Cybersecurity is seeking an RFP Technical Writer to be based in Houston, TX to help expand its Cybersecurity and Risk Advisory practice. In this role, you will be responsible for the development of the firm’s RFP and bid responses, proposals, and budgets as well as marketing deliverables supporting sales. This role requires a knowledge of Information Security programs, including IT Security Strategy, IT Security Operations, Security Training and Awareness, IT General Controls Compliance and Audit Management, IT Forensics, Identity, and Access Management, Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, and IT Risk.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Extremely thorough and detail-oriented.
  • 5+ years of experience in the field of cybersecurity or professional services within information technology.
  • Read and assess bids and RFPs to determine the strategy for response.
  • Develop proposal outlines and requests pricing.
  • Collaborative nature.
  • Exceptional closing skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Must have the ability to adapt to change daily.
  • Phenomenal critical thinking skills to determine the best solution out of multiple “correct” options.
  • Apply complex technical knowledge as required by submissions and remove obstacles diplomatically, with little supervision.
  • May require working both traditional and non-traditional hours.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Familiarity with GovWin is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of bids, RFPs, proposals, and qualification packages for project opportunities (including pricing, information gathering, formatting, writing, and final production).
  • Develop request documents that clearly delineate all job specifications, including all potential variables.
  • List and explain all documentation -- such as proofs of liability or workers' compensation insurance based on bid requirements.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop and maintain go-to-market strategies around Information Security, Data Privacy, IT Compliance, IT Risk, and Data Governance.
  • Lead strategy/planning sessions and formal proposal presentations.
  • Understand and maintain the knowledge of the rules and laws governing proposals, widely and specifically.
  • Self-conduct any required research necessary to assemble the most appropriate requirements of bids and proposals
  • Manage the retention of customers and the ongoing client experience.
  • Maintain customer strategy and direction while collaborating with internal teams, leveraging sales tools such as Salesforce.
  • Contribute to problem-solving sessions with the project team, consulting team, and client representatives on a regular basis.
