A Snapshot of Your Day 

You will be a leading member of the Project Management Team, responsible for our complex Energy Generation and Transmission projects.

How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Responsible for the commercial project execution of Contracts with customers, regional companies, consortium partners, sub-suppliers and other Siemens Energy entities
  • Ensuring an adequate project initiation phase after handover from Sales / Bid Management; analyzing customers’ requirements, examining their commercial and contractual feasibility, including ECC matters
  • Co-leading our projects, together with the General Project Manager, by ensuring and optimizing targeted financial results
  • Ensuring the accuracy of the monthly project forecasting activities and conducting follow-ups of the cost and pricing calculation and ensure the recording of such in appropriate systems (e.g. SAP)
  • Actively performing asset management, initiating invoicing according to project progress and contractual terms and ensures proper payment allocation (onshore/offshore/consortium)
  • Prepare documentation for customer invoicing and follow up on payments.
  • Support with all other financial and commercial aspects of the project such as tax issues, hiring out of personnel, bank guarantees, insurance claims etc.
  • Preparing the commercial documentation for regular project status meetings and ensuring the accuracy of the commercial project data (Forecast, concurrent cost reviews, cash flow planning) in cost review sessions with the project team
  • Driving the review and constant evaluation of the contract conditions within the Project Team, in co-operation with the Contract & Claim Manager or Legal Department, incl. co-leading the contracts/claim/change order negotiations
  • Synchronizing the contract structure with the international tax and delegation concept for our cross-border projects; ensuring adherence of project-related tax regulations, incl. the role of the World Project Controller (consolidation of worldwide commercial figures, as per specific regulations)
  • Following up the project procurement strategy with the purchasing & procurement department by handling of Sub-supplier and Contractor purchase orders, checking proper timing and cost accuracy of supplier invoices, as well as cost controlling for the project.
  • Motivating Project Team members
  • Thinking and acting holistically in the interest of Siemens Energy, incl. compliance topics
  • Establishing a culture of trust and integrity and driving (commercial) project members to act according to the Business Conduct Guidelines
  • Ensuring efficient communication with all relevant internal and external stakeholders, e.g. HR, Quality Management, EHS, customers, suppliers, consortium partners etc
  • Actively building direct contacts, interfaces and relations to communicate with customer's high seniority commercial representatives to manage resolution of commercial issues

What You Bring

  • You have a master’s degree in business administration (or an education in business administration with proven professional experience in a similar environment).
  • You have at least 5 years of experience of working in a project business in the Energy, Oil & Gas, Process or Infrastructure industry.
  • You have knowledge of accounting according to IFRS, maintenance of local accounts as well global consolidating accounts.
  • You have some experience in currency management and tax topics.
  • You are a driving force, you are ambitious with documented, ability to work in a team, you cope well with temporary high workloads.
  • You know what to prioritize and you take responsibility.
  • You are a team player and have an open and communicative approach to people.
  • You feel comfortable being in the spotlight and presenting your results to internal management or customers.
  • You are detailed when it is needed and always make sure to deliver on time with the right quality.
  • You enjoy working with data and various IT applications.
  • You have solid work experience in MS Excel and SAP (or similar ERP systems).
  • You can communicate fluently in English, other language skills, especially German, are a plus.
