POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
The Systems Engineer 1 (SE1) ensures that space/ground systems requirements are achieved, analyzes system requirements, develops functional performance requirements, conducts trade studies, and allocates requirements to space and ground system elements. The Systems Engineer 1 is responsible for interface control during development and maintenance activities and for the integration and test planning necessary to verify (prelaunch) that system requirements have been realized. The Systems Engineer 1 is responsible for balancing specialty engineering (safety, human factors, reliability, maintainability, quality assurance, logistics, and contamination) requirements such that system performance requirements are achieved.
This position is for the MSR CCRS Project, specifically to provide Verification and Validation SE support. The SE1 will provide systems engineering support effort to develop the CCRS flight system and plan for its verification and validation. Develops requirements and guidance for V&V testbeds, test planning, I&T from component through system level. Direct support to CCRS V&V Lead and Payload Systems Engineer. Regular travel to JPL will be required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education–A Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent education and experience, in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics from an accredited institution.
Experience–Five years of professional experience with 2 years of experience as an aerospace systems engineer performing several of the analysis, design and integration functions described above.
