What You’ll Do:

Works under general direction and requires thorough knowledge of behavioral healthcare theories, interventions, evaluation techniques and treatment systems:

  • As a member of sex offender services team, responsible for the development and implementation of interventions (e.g. Psychological, social) for a caseload of sex of-fenders.
  • Develops programs and intervention methods used by teams to treat sex offenders.
  • Supervises, evaluates, and trains program staff.
  • Assigns the caseload and oversees treatment activities of program staff.
  • Completes assessments inclusive of risk assessments, comprehensive evaluations, and sexually violent predator assessments.
  • Provides social psychological services to sex offenders including psychoeducationion, group programming evaluations, psychosocial assessments.
  • Documents evaluations, assessments, and interventions in the Electronic Health Care Record.
  • Participates in and/or is responsible for the mental health services quality assurance program. Initiates and maintains contact with families and community agencies.
  • Provides and seeks information relative to sex offender care and treatment.
  • Maintain contacts with courts, probation offices, prosecutors’ offices, and APA Sex Offender Specialists to ensure staff have the necessary information to score risk assessments and complete comprehensive assessments; makes appropriate community referrals, per team.
  • Participates in personnel management tasks including recruitment, interview, and recommendations for hiring.
  • Complies with all facility and DRC rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains necessary data documents required by DRC.
  • Attends meetings and establishes and maintains a working relationship with other facilities and agencies.
  • Conducts in-service training; participates in continuing education programs.
  • Attends conferences, workshops and meetings as directed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) by Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.

  • Or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
  • Or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
