At the Emory Centers for Public Health Training and Technical Assistance (Emory Centers), we help our clients and their partners develop the professional skills, evidence-based programs, and policy action needed to build healthier communities. Housed within the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory Centers provides innovative trainings, technical assistance, and materials to build the knowledge and skills to foster strong leadership, increase organizational capacity, and strengthen partnerships. Our clients include state and local departments of health, non-profit organizations, and foundations. Our services span across all public health issues, risk factors, and professional competencies. Our four dedicated subcenters have provided capacity-building and community mobilization services in all 50 states and territories over the last 20 years. JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Works with faculty or external constituencies, for example, healthcare and education, to develop instructional materials (both continuing education and/or for university credit) for delivery in traditional face-to-face and/or web/app-based environments.
  • May research and develop case studies for delivery using novel approaches, including computer and distance learning technologies.
  • May work in collaboration with multimedia developers.
  • May assist faculty or external constituents in integrating instructional technologies into their teaching and training.
  • Evaluates and recommends new instructional methods and associated technology.
  • May instruct students, faculty, and staff in the selection and use of appropriate instructional methods and associated technologies.
  • Serves as training facilitator as needed.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • Provides cross-center support for curriculum development, instructional design, writing and editing of learning products.
  • Engages with Emory Centers clients to support the writing and editing of stories for communications through various mediums (newsletters, podcast, case stories, curriculum content, etc.).
  • Works closely with the health equity CORE team to ensure inclusion of culturally appropriate and language sensitive content.
  • Provides curriculum and/or instructional design support for curriculum products and updates of learning tools
  • Provides SME quality control of webinar content and other training products through editing and standardized branded look and feel (provided by communications core)
  • Works with MATCH recipients and community partners to interview and write success stories and lessons learned, and to develop and/or edit content for communications related products (newsletters, presentations, etc.)
  • Provides editing and script support for podcasts as needed
  • Management of the Learning Management System and co-creation of LMS structure as part of team; provides regular tracking reports to evaluation team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field and three years of related experience in an educational environment, OR an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects; strong oral and written communication skills; and the ability to interact with both faculty and staff as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Current knowledge on pedagogical issues related to education and technology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with writing and editing content 
  • Experience developing effective communication materials. 
  • Experience working with virtual teams via online group meeting software, and comfort with learning systems and technologies 
  • Experience working with diverse individuals and populations

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
