Moda is looking for an inspiring and skilled leader to oversee editorial strategy and content for Moda Operandi, with an eye that marries quality story-telling with audience and revenue growth. The ideal candidate is a sharp, thoughtful people manager, has a strong vision for shaping editorial coverage, and boasts an impressive background in digital media. 

This is a hybrid role with 1 day a week (Wednesdays) in our Industry City, Brooklyn NYC office required.

Primary Responsibilities, include:

  • Drive editorial Strategy for Moda across all categories (fashion, home, fine jewelry, beauty, and lifestyle) and channels (site, email, social, etc)
  • Manage the editorial team with an eye for collaboration and growth, as well as producing best-in-class content
  • Oversee the editorial calendar and ensure assignments are getting published on deadline, delivering on all relevant KPI’s 
  • Top edit and write content and make judgment calls on which topics or tone do not fall within our brand purview
  • Ensure product selection featured in shoots and campaigns is aligned with fashion POV, editorial messaging plan & key business priorities 
  • Oversee final product selection for email and site editorial features, contextualizing within an authoritative and relevant fashion / style POV that supports business objectives
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders to ideate and conceptualize content that speaks to a diverse and highly-engaged audience
  • Ensure all content reflects the Moda brand, cross-platform (ranging from newsletter to paid ads and brand & business comms)
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners in Marketing, Merchandising, Sales, etc. to ensure content is optimized across all platforms
  • Identify and develop new editorial and content strategies to foster business growth, while creating best-in-class work
  • Partner with Creative, Social, and PR, on content including video
  • Represent editorial in key external and internal meetings, including pitching concepts externally

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years experience assigning and editing in the digital space. E-commerce experience is strongly preferred
  • Minimum 4 years experience managing a team 
  • Expert level writing and editing skills
  • Has a finger on the pulse and comprehensive understanding of trends, both fashion and in the wider culture 
  • Ability to bring a clear point-of-view to content and strategy, as well as ability to listen and incorporate the team’s points-of-view
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized, agile, and adept at managing multiple priorities and delivering on tight deadlines. 
  • Proven history of delivering exceptional content across digital channels with an innovative approach to using digital tools
  • Proven expertise of fashion and luxury. In addition to this, experience in home, lifestyle, and beauty strongly preferred 
  • Data-driven; ability to respond to data and metrics to improve performance
  • A thoughtful, inclusive approach to running teams, with a focus on collaboration, communication, and inspiration 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people across departments and at all levels of the company 
  • A positive and optimistic attitude with a passion for people, style, and storytelling 

Job Type: Full-time; Hybrid role; NYC based (Brooklyn office space)

Salary: $144,000 - $188,000 per year + Discretionary Bonus & Equity Eligible
