Description:

  • Incumbent will provide project management support to localization of components in new product introduction / new source introduction process.
  • Incumbent will use his/her technical expertise and work on a project team when required to manage program risk due to technical challenges and delays.
  • Incumbent will collaborate closely with EMSM and Engineering teams in identifying, developing localization solutions to meet PQVC targets.
  • Ability to expand supplier base capabilities for local and international markets.
  • Incumbent will be an expert in product and component functions, product applications and performance of components / product in meeting the market needs.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with supplier management and engineering teams of various earthmoving product groups across the globe.
  • Position requires excellent human relations, interpersonal, negotiation and communications skills.

Basic Qualifications / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a relevant degree plus 8-10 years of previous experience working on engine integration and performance.
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a relevant degree plus 7- 8 years of previous supplier management function would be ideal for this position.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Demonstrates very good communication skills.
  • Vast knowledge on implementing APQP / PPAP processes.
  • A penchant for innovation, above average initiative, people development, and interpersonal skills.
  • Project Management knowledge and demonstrated execution of complex projects across multiple workstreams.
  • Working experience in 6 Sigma projects as Green Belt / Project Leader.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar Inc.; its products and services; its internal systems, processes, and procedures; and a general understanding of Caterpillar’s external customers, competitors, and market influencers.
