Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist/Recruiter

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist will be a team-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills. S/he will be responsible for consulting with hiring managers to understand their recruitment needs, develop sourcing strategies to leverage diverse high-caliber candidates, pre-screen candidates to assess their qualifications through a combination of behavioral and competency-based interviewing and monitor requisition status to ensure an efficient recruitment process.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Establishes recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; and meeting with managers to discuss needs.
  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, social media, and networking
  • Attract applicants by placing job advertisements; contacting recruiters, and using social media and job sites.
  • Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; and comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules; arrange travel, lodging, and meals; escort applicants to interviews.
  • Evaluate applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interview applicants on a consistent set of qualifications.
  • Supports co-op and intern programs by posting positions; scheduling rotations and assignments; and assisting the program manager.
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; and conducting training.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
  • Develop a working knowledge of departments to quickly identify hiring needs at the department level, as well as how that fits into the broader organizational culture.
  • Develop a pipeline of talent, specifically for frequently filled positions. Work creatively with departments to help create recruitment plans, and identify resources for outreach and staffing needs.
  • Work with department administrators to discuss changing needs and recommend action plans.
  • Process/review and follow up appropriately with all pre-employment background checks.
  • Provide initial screening of applicant pools, as well as phone screens or interviews where applicable.
  • Work within ATS to screen resumes for dissemination to departments. Review and approve internal transactions occurring in your designated area.
  • Accomplishes human resources and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Assist with ongoing and short-term projects as necessary
  • Other work-related duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 years of corporate recruiting experience
  • Experience with OFCCP recruiting regulations and reporting
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and ATS systems
  • Must have experience recruiting with social media

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-year college degree
  • Experience recruiting for engineering and professional construction roles
  • AIRS Certified Recruiter
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Experience with Taleo/Oracle ATS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times concerning appearance, communication, and behavior
  • Must have excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills
  • Experience in interviewing techniques and running a successful hiring process
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.
  • Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work well as part of a team and independently
  • Must have strong technology skills and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • No or very limited physical effort is required.
