Technical Analysis & Solutions
- Draws on proven BA/Technical Analyst experience to functional and non-functional requirements
- Reviews, elicits and writes requirements/EPICS & User Stories for the complete solution
- Communicates & manages the business requirements & acceptance criteria between development teams to implement solutions
- Feeds into the product backlog, for new requests and reported issues.
- Participates in feasibility studies and prototyping - Defining and managing inputs, requirements, acceptance & success criteria
- Provides input to technical architecture and investigates solution options, to ensure that business & technical needs are fulfilled
- Responsible for building relationships with business owners, Product & Marketing, internal IT team and Engineering team
- Works with Product Delivery, Support and Change teams in an agile environment bringing products to market
- Stays abreast of industry standards, collaborates across communities
Product Delivery Implementation.
- Takes responsibility for IT solutions delivered
- Manages traceability from requirements through to implementation
- Collaborates with developers and SMEs to establish the technical vision and analyses trade-offs between usability and performance needs
Change management
- Guides senior business management towards accepting change brought about through IT, showing understanding, imagination and creativity
- Identifies and assesses options for new or improved processes and presents them, with recommendations, to decision makers at senior management level
- Recognises and exploits opportunities for improvements to IT systems and delivery
- Evaluates and makes recommendations/decisions on technical options as appropriate, actively contributing to Travelex's technical strategies
- Ensures the smooth integration of new business processes with the organisational structure and culture
- Coordination of changes across multiple business units to deliver the full solution
Management information
- Writes and speaks fluently on all aspects of work and communicates effectively with all levels of management
- Produces accurate, timely and relevant MI for peers and managers as required
Relationship management
- Represents the business internally working closely with the Business Owners for systems. Establishing themselves as the go to person for the systems they support
- Develops and maintains robust relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure business analysis, development, test and implementation activities are visible and in line with agreed customer expectations
- Builds confidence and acquires an understanding of the business
- Works closely with the business unit’s IT team to provide support to business, development, test & support colleagues in the smooth integration of new business processes/applications
Communication
- Responsible for pro-active and regular communication with other areas of IT and the business whose work impacts, or depends upon the team, in relation to business analysis
- Proactive in the provision of feedback and the delivery of ideas to develop and improve requirement gathering/generation, and the BA role relating to IT and the business unit IT
- Actively communicates and seeks feedback from colleagues and customers
- Ensures feedback to line manager outlining general activities
Team Membership
- Active in Technical/Business Analyst communities; proactively seeks opportunities to serve in leadership roles
- Ensure appropriate and comprehensive support arrangements are in place with internal and external teams and partners
- Work to agreed day to day objectives, and participate actively in regular one to one meetings with all line managers, and work to develop personal skills
- Support and encourages support for “people initiatives”

- Be a/become a subject-matter-expert in the business domain and related IT services and systems
- Interested in gaining an in-depth knowledge of business & technical areas and a detailed technical understanding of the supporting IT services and applications

Experience and personal qualities
Essential
- Degree educated or significant relevant work experience
- Previous experience (3-5 years) of delivering business analysis on regulatory-related projects from the specific IT function’s perspective
- Experience of business analysis on a significant portfolio of projects and programmes, including enterprise wide. with proven delivery within a commercial IT environment
- Knowledge and understand of the Software Development Lifecycle (Agile & Waterfall) associated best practices and toolsets
- Experience of Collaborative toolsets (Jira, Confluence, MS Teams)
- Knowledge, understanding and application of BA best practice e.g: “MoSCoW”.
- Knowledge and understanding of requirement management in an Agile Environment
- Effectively manages / prioritises work in close alignment with business and IT stakeholders
- Work with the Project Managers and Product/Relationship Partners for estimation of costs for IT solutions, including Non–Functional & Service & Support/
- Assisting in resolution of major issues that may be related to systems design or integration
- Able to develop sound professional working relationships across Global IT and Back office IT colleagues, business staff and management, building their confidence and acquiring an understanding of the business
Desirable
- Experience in International Financial Business, Foreign Exchange, AML, PEP/Sanctions, Operational Risk, Fraud, Data Protection, PCI, Data reporting
- Project management experience, ability to project manage service pack/bus stop releases
- BCS Diploma or CCBA/CBAP qualifications
- Understanding of quality and test assurance
- Experience of working with remote / offshore development teams
- Apply Business Analysis experience that meets Travelex standards
- Improvement in solution quality; from developing better quality information in business requirements and EPICS that ensure better deliveries, products and solutions
- Project timescales and budget; Project/change priorities

- Experience of working with or using Persona and or Thetaray for Sanction screening, Transaction Monitoring and also CDD
