Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design automation vision and objectives for verification of Varian’s SW Applications in close collaboration with other teams including Development, DevOps, SQE and PMO.
  • Design and implement a sophisticated test automation framework to test Varian’s product lines, serving as part of the global architecture team.
  • Provide technical and architectural guidance towards the automation solution that supports continuous integration, continuous delivery, and agile practices.
  • Drive vision and objectives implementation into concrete actions and milestones.
  • Create a plan to deliver actions and milestones using project management methodology of choice.
  • Develop and propose relevant processes and methods for automating the software testing process.
  • Implement the automation framework, develop related tools and scripts, and integrate the system and tools with the continuous integration system, utilizing technical expertise and development skills.
  • May lead a project or a team of junior engineers. International travel required up to 10% of time.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field (or foreign equivalent)
  • Three (3) years of experience in the job offered, Software Engineer, Software Developer, Senior or Lead Quality Engineer, Quality Engineer, Engineering Manager, or a related occupation.

Special Requirements: 

Must have experience with or academic training with each of the following:

  • Python;
  • Object Oriented programming;
  • Linux and Windows;
  • UI and API testing using Python, Selenium, and Web automation tools and frameworks;
  • Test management tools, defect tracking tools, and agile development tools including Quality Center, JIRA or JAMA; and
  • Virtualization tools including VMWare or AWS.

The base pay range for this position is

Min $95,900 - Max $172,600

The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
