W Magazine is seeking a full-time Senior Social Media Manager to oversee and grow the brand’s presence across all platforms including Instagram, X (formerly known as Twitter), Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest and more. The ideal applicant has excellent writing and editing skills, a passion for storytelling, and a deep understanding of the worlds of luxury fashion, art, and entertainment as well as all of its key players. This is a role for someone with a strong sense of urgency, keen editorial instincts, and is eager and enthusiastic about interpreting W’s stories for each of its channels.

This position is based in New York City. Remote candidates will not be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, execute, and schedule daily social media posting across W’s platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, Pinterest, Threads and more
  • Provide metrics, trending reports and packaging direction to editors
  • Write clean, engaging social copy, source images and edit short-form videos for W’s social channels
  • Collaborate closely with W’s art, photo, and video teams on social posts and stories as well as issue rollouts
  • Create and edit Instagram Reels and TikTok videos
  • Occasionally attend and cover live events including red carpets, awards shows, premieres, and launches
  • Spearhead, manage, and oversee social content partnerships both within BDG and across the Web with like-minded brands

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of relevant editorial or social experience ideally at a fashion lifestyle publication or brand
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with established and emerging social platforms
  • Meticulous attention to detail especially in regards to social tags, image crops, and fact-checking social copy
  • Proven experience in hitting key social metrics and a demonstrated ability to interpret data for audience engagement and growth
  • A willingness to attend and cover live events on behalf of W
  • A strong knowledge of social analytics tools including Google Analytics and Dash Hudson
  • A sharp sense for fashion and entertainment news, strong visual instincts and a firm grasp of the competitive media landscape
  • Excellent editorial judgment, copywriting skills, and the ability to meet deadlines 100% of the time
  • Confident, collaborative, and communicative with a desire to thrive in a fast-paced media environment
  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • A proactive team player with a positive attitude
