Senior Human Resources Business Partner

Allied Mineral Products is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide. We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner in our Columbus, Ohio location. 

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (SHRBP) will work closely with the leadership team at all levels to develop and execute Allied’s talent strategy. The SHRBP will lead complex projects and support the people aspects of company initiatives, building relationships and providing human resources guidance to departments. The SHRP will support all HR functions as needed including in workers compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy development & implementation, recruitment/employment, compensation and compliance. Together with the Corporate Vice President, Human Resources, the SHRBP works on setting priorities, driving values, and delivering business results. Daily, the SHRBP serves as a catalyst and coach to enable Allied employees to contribute at optimum levels toward the success of the company in ways that are satisfying and rewarding.

Key Duties:

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, development and engagement.
  • Works closely with HR subject matter experts to execute complex projects and address sensitive questions and issues when they arise,
  • May be required to administer tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, responding to employee requests, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, addressing compensation issues and terminations.
  • Develop and measure Human Resource Dept. analytics, providing analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Recommend employee relations practices to establish positive employer/employee relationships to promote a high level of employee engagement.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Leads projects or processes of diverse scope, while working independently with limited supervision.
  • Work with HR colleagues to support all domestic operations in Ohio, Alabama and Texas, as well as nationwide Sales team
  • Supports continuous improvement/automation activities.
  • Uses advanced analytical/technical problem solving to develop new solutions to existing problems/procedures.
  • Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelors’ or master’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline. 
  • Must have a minimum of 8 years’ related work experience. 
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be proficient in Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel software applications. SharePoint a plus. Experience with Paycor ideal, or similar HRIS.
  • Prior experience in industrial settings a plus.
  • Must be self-motivated, a team player and have strong attention to detail.
