Job Description

This role is aimed for a Data Protection Security SME who will be instrumental in understanding a client’s current data security posture, identify relevant data security gaps and risks and be able to advise on and implement data security tools and apply data security concepts in mitigating data security risks. The Data Security engineer must have a good understanding of the various data security gaps and risks and advise on solutions to mitigate client concerns. An in-depth knowledge of the various security solutions and data security/data governance tools to meet the client’s objectives and desired outcomes is required. The candidate should have a solid technical proficiency to evaluate various methods of securing data to ensure architectural decisions made are robust and scalable. With extensive cyber security knowledge, the Data Security Engineer will perform detailed Data Security Risk Assessments and implement technical solutions to mitigate identified risks. The Data Security Engineer is required to work independently and in a group setting, to achieve the best outcome for clients and Accenture.

Key technical skills expected:

  • Detailed knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and a good understanding of the various data security gaps and be able to advise on solutions to mitigate client concerns.
  • Support and validate the discovery of sensitive information residing within data repositories (e.g., GitHub, network drives, databases) across an organisation.
  • Ability to manage data security throughout its lifecycle from creation and storage to archiving and disposal.
  • Provide technical expertise in protecting sensitive information from inadvertent disclosure and exfiltration while in-transit and at-rest.
  • Develop and implement automated processes to align with corporate data policies.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and security policies.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining technical documents, including policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Sourcing and implementing new security solutions to better protect the organisation.
  • Conducting proactive research to analyse security weaknesses and recommend appropriate strategies.
  • Liaising with vendors to implement security solutions.
  • Hands on experience and able to architect, set-up, implement and configure data security solutions and data security/data governance tools such as Securiti.AI, Thales CipherTrust, Microsoft Purview or any equivalent tool to meet the client’s objectives and desired outcomes.
  • In-depth understanding of data security controls and data security concepts (encryption, access controls, DLP, key management, secure configuration management, Tokenisation, data cataloguing, obfuscation, masking, and data retention, archival)
  • In-depth Knowledge of processes related to data protection.
  • A good understanding and application of cloud security concepts

Desired:

  • Database access monitoring
  • Certifications in one or more of the following: CIPP, CIPT, CISSP, CISA, or Security+
  • Baseline Security Clearance or the ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Understanding of privacy laws
  • Understanding of consent management, privacy notices, privacy risk assessment and privacy standards
