Position Summary 

Illumina’ Global Information Systems (GIS) team is seeking a highly experienced, motivated, and team-oriented Staff Quality Engineer focused on testing and automating end-to-end business processes for the Commercial organization. The candidate must have an exceptional understanding and experience with planning, writing, automating, and executing integration, functional and regression testing use cases. As a Senior Quality Engineer (QE), you will support the delivery of Commercial solutions, executing manual and automated test plans. This position demands an individual with strong quality engineering, collaboration, and communication skills, who can contribute to a team environment to present well prepared, stakeholder-focused verbal and written communications. 

Responsibilities 

  • Perform QE activities, primarily, within Salesforce platform (preferred) and as needed within integrated systems such as SAP, Ecommerce or other Cloud based enterprise systems. 
  • Analyze requirements for ambiguity and testability, create automation strategy (test plans), automated scripts and data for continuous improvement activities and end-to-end testing process. 
  • Work closely with globally located team of business analysts and developers to define testing need for user stories. 
  • Work with cross functional and global team develop, modify, and execute end to end test plans and automation libraries. 
  • Develop and maintain automated tests to improve reliability and repeatability of frequently run software tests. 
  • Monitor, triage, and track execution of the test cases based on severity and priority. 
  • Use effective communication and presentation skills to report and manage defects, facilitate resolution sessions with cross functional and global teams. 
  • Interest and willingness to rotate areas of QE responsibilities and learn new technologies. 
  • Collaborate and co-ordinate testing with team of internal and external QA testers. 
  • Estimate QA efforts, create and review test plans, based on business requirements. 
  • Design, create and execute automation and manual scripts. 
  • Proactively look at opportunities on improving the QA process with best practices as applicable 
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, tools and applications to support the business. 
  • Will collaborate with Salesforce product teams located in the US and India.

Requirements 

  • 8+ years of manual and automated testing is a must experience preferably in AccelQ or Worksoft on Salesforce and SAP platform. 
  • Experience with web-based testing using selenium or other automations tools is preferred. 
  • Understanding of test execution platforms such as Sauce labs is preferred. 
  • Experience with writing, executing, and automating functional, integration and regression tests. 
  • Experience with manual testing in ValGensis, and Jira is preferred. 
  • Experience in performing testing activities on applications governed under regulatory compliance such as HIPAA, FDA and/or SOX is preferred. 
  • Strong SQL verification skills is preferred. 
  • Collaboration with Global teams - open to collaborating with other teams - open to learn. 
  • Position requires attending regular calls with US based teams during Pacific Standard time zone (mostly US morning hours).

Education 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required.
  • Field of study in Information Systems, Information Technology, or equivalent related work experience.
