Job Scope:

This role is responsible for managing and driving the implementation of the continuous improvement process, by identification, evaluation and control of production losses and waste, developing and managing skill base within manufacturing and delivering appropriate coaching.

This role leads the Manufacturing Excellence program for the factory, working with site Managers and the Leadership team to execute continuous improvement initiatives to drive performance. They influence Manufacturing performance indicators such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), MP (Manufacturing Performance), OR (Output Reliability) and CPT (Cost per Ton). They are responsible to drive the UMS (Unilever Manufacturing System) Agenda across the pillars. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual, with great influencing skills to take on and streamline projects to deliver business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Key contact for Unilever Manufacturing System (UMS) on site, including introduction of key initiatives that drive performance improvement.
  • Coaching of staff and blue-collar workforce on site in best practice manufacturing and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive MANEX program deployment, including standards development and horizontal expansion.
  • Eliminate Waste and Loss according to the UMS prioritization process using AM, PM, FI and QC pillar tools and methodologies.
  • Support the implementation of site improvement programs, including SMED, Center-lining and Kaizen workshops.
  • Design and deliver appropriate training and coaching.
  • Investigate and deploy latest continuous improvement tools and digital strategies.
  • Engage with Key stakeholders and peers across geographies.
  • Team player with proven problem-solving capabilities
  • Able to drive sustainable results in performance improvement.
  • Roll out Unilever Manufacturing System (UMS) program at the factory, practical application of the program to achieve plant process improvement.
  • Provide leadership to the Manufacturing Excellence Coordinators in delivery of Continuous improvement.
  • Assist in providing and developing data management systems that enable management of plant performance and measurement of improvements.
  • Constantly seek for innovative solutions and digital enablers to achieve asset stabilization and lead the Digital Factory Roadmap, while increasing labor productivity and eliminating NVAA
  • Focus on material waste, labor, and equipment efficiency. 
  • Accelerate knowledge transfer and enhance the use of advanced tools so that projects are delivered faster.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain operations.
  • Appropriate functional / technical expertise –Manufacturing Excellence, Operation, Quality, Data Science.
  • Strong continuous improvement background is required, with demonstrated performance. 
  • FMCG experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in leading a continuous improvement/change program.
  • Ability to coach, influence and build strong relationship with Stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in conditions which include multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities in tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
