Job Description:
What You’ll Get to Do:
- Deliver foreign language training to adult language professionals
- Tailor approach to student learning styles and strategies
- Work as part of a teaching team
- Interact with course developers, curriculum managers, and other instructors to assist with design and implementation of training
- Provide constructive feedback on student progress to the Government. All learning assessments correlate with or directly support unit/topic/course objectives;
- Supplement instruction with contemporary authentic material
More About the Role:
- Use basic classroom technology to include audio/video/DVD components, and computer applications, such as Microsoft Office
- Deliver instruction via interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning activities
- Ensure all course delivery meets standards in ADET Instruction I-04
- Utilize technology such as Apple iBooks Author, ePubs, SmartBoard/Symposium and Blackboard
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Native capability in Spanish and at least an ILR level 2 proficiency in English (OR native capability in English and a 3/3 Spanish)
- 5 years’ experience teaching adult language education and methodology
- 3 years’ experience preparing and presenting face-to-face language instruction within a formal language environment
- 2 years’ experience finding and using authentic materials to support learning objectives
- 6 months experience using appropriate language fonts, keyboards, and language training software.
- Bachelor’s Degree (or two additional years of teaching adults)
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Experience teaching translation, grammar, listening and reading comprehension, speaking and writing.
