Grab the opportunity to join Oatly as R&D Engineer in Analytical Chemistry in the Science and Technology team.

Working with a team of scientists and engineers, you will establish robust protocols of analysis using modern and industry-standard techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy and rheology. You will contribute to multi-disciplinary R&D projects within a dynamic and collaborative environment, focusing primarily on analyzing food composition and behavior from raw materials to finished products. You will apply safe ways of working in laboratories, and train scientists to use equipment and carry out research safely. You will have responsibility for material and data management, as well as maintenance of facilities, and procurement of equipment and consumables.

You have a demonstrated track record of working in research laboratories within an academic or corporate research institution. You have a sharp and creative mind, with an analytical mindset to understand complex situations. You are good at adapting to new situations and make the most of opportunities. You are an excellent communicator, able to explain complex science concepts to a range of audiences. You are a supportive and inclusive team member.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

To thrive and be happy in this role, we believe that you have the following qualifications and experience:

  • MSc in Food Science, Food Engineering or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a laboratory environment.
  • Working knowledge of advanced analytical techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy and rheology.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety risk assessments and protocols of safe laboratory working.
  • Working knowledge of sample and/or data management, and its importance in quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of biochemical techniques for protein, carbohydrate, fat and small molecule analysis.
  • Evidence of working independently and in a team.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written).
