The GTCC Regional Senior Consultant provides guidance and advice to our clients to reform their operations and business. Acts as a strategic ally to every client who wants to invest in how to improve their business regarding customs and trade. Being the powerhouse of knowledge within the Asia Pacific GTCC organization, has significant experience and in-depth knowledge on the diversity, challenges, and intricacies of the customs operations across APAC region, understanding our customers´ global flow of goods. Possesses major problem-solving skills and can build solutions and recommendations that will increase profitability and efficiency for our customers businesses.

The GTCC Senior Consultant reports to the Regional Head of GTCC.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Act as delivery lead in assignments and define tasks for resources. Actively involve expertise of others where needed
  • Take responsibility and drive competence in selected expertise areas. Act as delivery lead, and achieve profitability by giving efficient instruction and reducing risks
  • Organize and execute assigned business projects on behalf of clients, according to client’s defined requirements
  • Provides expert advice to other parts of the team across geographies where needed
  • Needs to be able to set out own direction and work against set targets, should handle and plan large projects and assignments
  • Collects information about the client’s business needs through a variety of methods (shadowing, interviews, surveys, reading reports etc.)
  • Analyzes and interprets data to unearth weaknesses and problems, and comprehend the causes
  • Formulate recommendations and solutions with attention to client’s needs, capabilities and limitations forming concise reports, presenting findings and suggestions to clients with ample justification and practical advice
  • Acts as main driver of delivery for team financial and project budget
  • Participates actively in three sales processes per month
  • Demonstrates competence growth in 2-3 areas of interest
  • Fosters and train key consultant behavior of junior colleagues and ensures customer requirements are met or exceeded

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 10 years expertise in customs and trade compliance within private and/or public sectors
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the APAC regional customs procedures and practices
  • Experience within other consulting organizations is a plus
  • BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field; MSc/MA in a specialized business field will be an advantage
  • Additional knowledge depth in 1-2 selected areas, and width covering 5-10 areas
  • Identify opportunities and develop offers together with manager. Handle 20-60 hour leads
  • Certified Management Consultant is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills in English, being able to redact strong and concise reports for our customers. Proficiency in a secondary language spoken in Asian region will be advantageous
  • Skills to handle tasks including a group of persons in standard conditions. Skills to manage workshop and trainings where learning target gets achieved
  • Less dependent on direction. Contacts manager for support and coaching
  • Proficiency in MS Office team collaboration tools, knowledge on CRM tools (Salesforce) is a plus
  • Experience with the Japanese Customs Authority is a plus
  • Fluency in both Japanese and Eng
