Main Purpose of Job
 
  1. To ensure that the targeted volumes in the territory get delivered at the best rates accruing to the company.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (MAIN AREAS OF WORK RESPONSIBILITIES)

 

1)   General Work Related Duties

  • Planning

Setting territory targets in consultation with the respective regional business manager based on the Regional Sales Plan. Also Operational planning for the way in which the sales targets can be achieved in their respective territory. These plans have to be in sync with the regional plans as discussed with the regional business managers

  • Market Development:

Carrying out the process of achieving sales by meeting with various farmers. Understanding the needs of the farmer on an individual level and providing them the requisite solutions.

  • Achieving sales targets

Ensuring that the budgeted sales volumes and revenues are met with, so as to achieve business results.  This is done through field visits, i.e. visiting dealers, distributors, farmers, etc in one’s own territory and thus making the sales. Also achieving collections is a critical part of the job.

  • Managing Distribution

Carrying out field visits so as to meet with distributors and dealers and thus achieving sales by understanding their demands and providing appropriate solutions. Also taking orders from them and coordinating the process with the respective administrative assistant.

  • Manage Collections:

Coordinate and manage the process of collections from the dealers and the distributors based on the outstanding and credit limit available to them.

  • Managing Market Development Officer’s

Managing and training the Market Development Officers about how to carry out the field visits etc and thus providing them on the job training and sales skills for market development.

2)   Environment, Health and Safety

  • To adhere to the safety norms of Monsanto by timely reporting of incidents / injuries / near misses within 48 hours of such occurrence.
  • Also follow principles of Vehicle Safety and emphasize the same to the MDO’s and one’s own family.

3)   Miscellaneous responsibilities

  • Market Research

Carry out market research as per the need and requirement as intimated by the Regional Business Manager or NSM.

  • Special Projects:
  • Carryout special project on need basis as and when required.
