The Senior IT Project Manager works to ensure alignment, provide direction and clarity, communicate effectively and drive outcomes for project team members, leaders, and other key partners. The Senior Project Manager will ensure project results contribute positive business value and meets agreed upon scope, cost, schedule and quality business results. This role engages with executives, business collaborators, and partners throughout all levels of the company to manage assigned projects. Additionally, the Senior PM is looked upon as a mentor, leader, innovator, and thought partner within the IT PMO and encourages the team with a positive and collaborative style and fresh new insights for PMO maturity.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and close of an entire IT project of any size and complexity
  • Contribute to and champion usage of structured project management methodology (to include Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, Iterative, etc.)
  • Lead project teams in achieving desired outcomes while managing project dependencies, landmarks, and critical path; ensure team understands project business benefits and connects the project to the broader organizational goals
  • Analyze, run, and report project performance financial reporting, prioritization, task delegation and partner management along with generating insight on project performance
  • Develop and drives an overall project timeline, including tasks, duration, dependencies, and resource assignments while providing weekly status reports including critical project metrics in order to ensure successful delivery
  • Control and tracks changes to scope, time, cost, quality, issues, and elevates risks and issues to leadership level, as needed
  • Manage multiple medium sized projects at a time, or single large sized projects while evaluating risks; assessing possible outcomes to determine solution in a timely manner
  • Requests and on boards needed resources for the project; ensure adherence and execution of all gate approvals as defined in the Project Management Framework
  • Serves as an innovative leader with vision to PMO in our maturity journey; mentoring junior level project managers, on occasion

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. 5-8 years of experience in Project Management; PMP and/or Agile Certification highly desirable
  • Track record of success in delivering highly sophisticated IT technologies (application, infrastructure, web, and/or cloud) on time, within budget, and with quality that meets or exceeds business customer expectations
  • Knowledge of application and / or infrastructure development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Strong experience having clearly defined roles and responsibilities of Partners, Team Members, and Business Users
  • Proven knowledge of Change Management methodologies ideal (ADKAR, etc.)
  • Impressive ability to drive clarity and path forward from ambiguity. Connect the dots for the team
  • Expert in relationship building, influencing, and communication with ability to remain calm in high stress situations
  • Strong presentation skills and ability explain technically sophisticated concepts to non- technical team members and vice versa
  • Demonstrated financial competence to control costs and think in terms of profit, loss, and added new value
