Manages clinical outcomes, cost, customer satisfaction and administrative efforts in the daily care assignment and in the operations of the unit. Coordinates care and administration support for an outpatient population with treatment focused on complicated or non-healing wounds. Serves as the clinical expert to assigned staff and is a strong unit leader and performs unit and system leadership activities as necessary. Creates an environment that enables a highly engaged team to deliver high-quality, person-centered care. 

The design of our new emergency department gives us the ability to optimize efficiency and elevated patient care. The department is designed to provide the appropriate level of care in an appropriate setting. The department has over 50 patient treatment spaces and options. The rapid assessment area is a new approach to patient care, with dedicated staff, allows us to quickly assess and treat patients. The trauma rooms provide an improved patient experience by aligning equipment and space for staff efficiency. Radiology is in close proximity and capable to perform bedside procedures in emergent situations without delay. Our dedicated behavioral health space allows us to improve security, meet safety standards for patients and staff. 

This secured area is staffed and aligned with professional Behavioral Health staff that meet the needs of these patients. With this design, a new way of patient care is delivered, ultimately decreasing length of stay and enhancing our patient and their families’ experiences. Opportunities to grow with this team includes leadership pathways, SANE training, emergency and trauma certification and support for further formal education. 

The shift for this role will be primarily on nights with the addition of rotating as needed. 

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) required for those newly hired or promoted into the position after May 1, 2023.
  • Masters of Nursing preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
