We are seeking a Senior Back-End Engineer to design, develop and maintain modern software systems and workflows. The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, a background in web application development and a thorough understanding of industry standards. You must have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize properly. You will have the patience to listen and understand and the confidence to speak up and explain your decisions.

This is a remote opportunity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop and maintain complex database objects & workflows.
  • Perform requirements analysis, design, peer reviews and documentation.
  • Provide documentation for implementation, deployment and QA teams.
  • Apply sound software engineering processes, including iterative development, unit testing, source code control, inspections and reviews.
  • Adhere to the goal of delivering and maintaining the highest quality of software.
  • Learn our business model and understand existing enterprise applications.
  • Keep abreast of software development language revisions and technological advances.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • TSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Table Design, Indexes, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Views, User-Defined Functions, Optimization
  • C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core
  • Object Oriented Programming and Design, Design Patterns
  • Agile design principles
  • Comfortable working in a team setting or independently.
  • Good Communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • 7+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server, including design and optimization.
  • Proven track record designing/building enterprise solutions that are scalable and extensible.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Experience with Azure, including App Services, Function Apps, Azure SQL and/or Azure Service Bus
  • Proficiency with healthcare billing concepts
  • 2+ years of experience in .Net C# development.

PAY RANGE:

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

Pay Range: $94,745 – $159,206
