Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM is looking for a self-driven and highly motivated Operation Buyer with proven experience to join our IBM Procurement Services team for one of IBM’s key clients in EMEA. As an Operations Buyer, you will act as a first point of contact for all Procurement related activities of a client organization. You will be responsible for Procurement advisory services, full buyer purchase order placement and for providing support for Procurement applications and process related help requests. You will be aligned by categories and will ensure smooth operation of category directives in the day-to-day business.

  • You will act as subject matter expert in end to end purchasing processes
  • You will liaise with requesters/suppliers/category managers for additional information or any questions
  • You will provide guidance for client specific processes and procedures, including the procurement policy and the execution of category strategies
  • You will provide support in new supplier setups or extensions and interface with clients and suppliers on payment issues

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

What you will bring to the team:

  • Fluency in English and German
  • 2-4 years of Procurement experience,
  • Ability to build and maintain open and transparent relationships with business colleagues that contribute to mitigating change resistance
  • Be recognized as a trusted procurement advisor and an expert in deriving value whilst meeting operational needs
  • Self-sufficient in gathering and analyzing data to provide insights that support decisions
  • Team player attitude, energetic and pragmatic personality with excellent communication skills
  • Proactive attitude, self-driven with developed leadership skills, high levels of personal drive, initiative and commitment to business goals

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience with the following are bonus points, but not necessary, you can learn them at IBM:

  • IT skills: Ariba, Coupa, SAP, MS Office, SharePoint Experience with dashboards and reporting tools
