What’s in it for you?

We are looking for an Electrical Service Engineer to join our Propulsion & Climate Labs at Volvo Cars Headquarters in Gothenburg. Propulsion & Climate Labs is Volvo Cars’ Centre for testing propulsion systems, in complete vehicles as well as in component form. We operate and develop propulsion test facilities for vehicles, drivelines, electric motors, batteries, and transmissions, as well as aerodynamic and climatic testing. The Laboratory work includes hardware- and software preparation of tests, test execution, and processing of measurement data. We also develop and build new test facilities, which include new test types.

To prepare for the future, we must employ advanced tools for testing next-gen cars efficiently. Ready to lead in electrical safety for high-voltage vehicle systems? Join as an Electrical Service Engineer in the Emissions Service & Support Department. Your role involves supporting lab colleagues in adopting new testing technology, handling daily changes in test objects, and participating in risk analyses for new test types. Collaborate across departments to establish the foundation for electrical components in test facilities and work closely with engineers on prototypes. Stay updated on trends and products for our operations, and build a network within R&D and the Laboratory. Your contribution will be crucial to our ongoing success.

You and your skills

We're seeking candidates with a Master's or Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechatronics engineering, along with electrical authorization (AL) and at least three years of relevant work experience. Experience in high-voltage and electrical vehicle systems design, harness constructions, electrical calculations, mechanical CAD design (Catia 5), and two-dimensional construction design for dummy and bridging parts is preferred. Additional experience in electrical motor/transmission development/manufacturing or automotive engineering, familiarity with Volvo Cars engineering standards and systems, and strong analytical, solution-oriented, and cooperative skills are desired. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, a genuine interest in technology, and a drive for continual learning and improvement.
