Job Description:

SOC Manager - Remote in NC, SC, VA, TN, GA, VA - Direct Hire Salary - W2 Only, No C2C

FTE Salary: $160,000-$170-000

Location: Remote in NC, SC, VA, TN, GA. Will have to travel onsite to Raleigh, NC for first 2-3 days for training, to complete I-9, and to meet the team

  • Candidates need to be able to work on clients W2 for a direct hire role without sponsorship*

Requirements

5 years SOC management experience, needs to be able to mentor junior resources and analysts but also drive process improvement

  1. Grit, hungry to come in and lead/train an immature team.
  2. Experience working with both an internal team and MSP (currently outsourcing L1 and L2 support though MSP.)

  4. On interview, be able to speak to areas like: What metrics would you bring to the group and leadership to show process improvement? Will be shown a runbook on the interview – what would they fix about the current run book, what log sources would you want to see in order to make improvements, etc. SOC has a lot of alerts but they aren’t managed well (for example, they know how many alerts they have, but don’t know how many are false alerts, etc). How would they improve this?
  5. Day to Day Responsibilities/project specifics:
  6. responsible for planning, managing, maturing, and supporting the day-to-day operations and continued evolution of the organizations cybersecurity monitoring and incident response program. This self-driven leader is expected to be a subject matter expert with demonstrated experience in building a cyber security operations program that includes: IOA and IOC alert development and triage best practices, security logging, cyber incident response, threat intelligence, threat hunting, cyber forensics, Blue, and Purple Team activities. The individual will lead and own overall accountability for timely and appropriate response to security threats and incidents.
