Valuation Control Group - Equities - Vice President

As a Vice President in the Valuation Control Group team you will benefit from ongoing expert training and development to ensure they are fully integrated and comparable with the controllers based in other global trading locations such as London, New York and Hong-Kong.

You will work for the Valuation Control Group (VCG) which is organized along business lines including Corporate & Investment Bank (Macro Products, Credit, Equities, Securitized Products), Chief Investment Office (CIO), Treasury & Corporate (CTC), Asset Management, Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) and Commercial Banking (CB). Clients of the group include senior management, business heads, regulators, and both internal and external audit.

You will locally report into the Head of Valuation Control Group for the European Coverage and functionally into the respective EMEA Valuation Control lead.

Job responsibilities

  • Occupies Vice President position for Equities business in Warsaw
  • Owns and oversees the valuation control process and methodology including: price verification/benchmark process, fair value adjustments, prudential valuation adjustments, fair value hierarchy
  • Assists with various VCG established practices and control initiatives as well as performs necessary work relating to management reporting, regulatory mandates and consistency within the broader VCG framework
  • Partners with various functional groups on valuation related issues and develop/implement appropriate measures with the goal of ensuring fair value
  • Enhances existing control framework including reviewing independent pricing processes, assessing potential coverage developments and implementing new tools to enhance control efficiency
  • Engages in other value-added projects related to Business, Risk, and Finance initiatives

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Graduate degree with finance, economics, mathematics or engineering
  • Ability to understand complex products, and analyze transaction and process flows
  • Understanding of valuation concepts as they pertain to financial products and derivatives, basic accounting knowledge
  • Analytical aptitude
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience with Advanced Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Valuation Control experience
  • Prudential Valuation experience
  • Candidates with quantitative backgrounds 
  • Visual Basic, automation and database skills
