Sustainability Program Manager, Part-time 3/4 days per week

The Corporate Responsibility team is responsible for our company's impact on the environment, our communities and our people through our three programmes, Sustainability, Cares and Living Well.

About the Role

Corporate Responsibility is part of our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging function. This is a new role where you will develop a Sustainability Strategy. Partnering with our parent company’s commitment to achieve Net Zero by 2040.

Creating a roadmap for aims on sustainability and works with our divisional product leaders, to identify and deliver opportunities in this space.

Responsibilities

  • Working with our businesses and our parent company (RELX) on cross-company initiatives. Liaise with the sustainability leads from other businesses within RELX to share best practice and align our programmes where possible.
  • Working with RELX on the LexisNexis Risk Solutions Sustainability content for the RELX annual report.
  • Educating our 10,000 employees along with external audiences on our Environmental and Sustainability initiatives and projects. Championing our Scope 1, 2 and 3 emission reductions, and also on initiatives and opportunities within our products.
  • Engaging with the business around the importance of sustainability through our 130 team of Green Team Champions globally. Chairing meetings, sharing information, bringing in speakers from around the business. Sharing communications and creating a ‘playbook’ for them to disseminate information across their parts of the business.
  • Controlling our Green Team Ideas Bank budget: funding local projects globally with our Green Team Champions.
  • Championing as a thought leader on the importance of sustainability. Working within the Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging to create opportunities to engage and develop a purposeful workplace. Aligns sustainability to our social media strategy, EVP, volunteering, internal communications and annual reporting.

Requirements

  • Recognise and work on their own initiative to build a Sustainability Program within our business
  • Be a good communicator with the ability to work to a comms plan, write communications, reports and social media content.
  • Possess presenting skills and ability to collaborate across many groups in the business. 
  • Demonstrate working well within a team environment and plays an active supportive role in the Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging team.
  • Have a genuine passion for sustainability, good understanding of the area and, ideally previous experience/educational qualifications in the environmental space
