Purpose & Relevance for the Organization:

The general purpose of Global Finance & GBS - SCM Controlling is to be a financial consultant to the Corporate & GOPS Finance Senior Management by giving recommendations to enable and drive fact-based decision-making. The Finance Functions support and steer the business to achieve financial targets as well as the strategy based on the analysis of number indicators. This is supported by the creation of transparency about business performance through cost (-center) analysis, business analysis and performance management. 

As part of Global Finance & GBS, SCM finance is responsible for financial controlling and cost management and provides tailored key performance indicators. As a business partner we enable fact based decision making, best practice sharing and continuous process improvement by creating transparency on impact and dependencies of core cost and service drivers. We derive corresponding solution through application of state-of-the-art analytical tools and business expertise.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support execution of SCM strategy to improve end-to-end group performance, cost and service levels
  • Manage and support the financial controlling of all logistic cost related to the Supply Chain Management (SCM) within Europe (including all warehouses)
  • Manage and support processes and tools that increases transparency on cost and cost drivers of the Supply Chain through cost management of the assigned budget by manage and support budget process and forecast, reporting actual costs, explaining cost deviations, and identifying savings potential as part of cost saving initiatives
  • Act with a business partner mindset, e.g. by ensuring financial but also non-financial managers are provided top notch and highly accurate information for analysis for their business decisions.
  • Support business case development of Supply Chain projects and investments by challenging, identifying and quantifying improvement potential
  • Support the development and continuous enhancement of balanced Key Performance Indicators, strive for transparency on business performance drivers and building sustainable “performance management culture” within the Supply Chain Organization
  • Act as a team player, embrace continuous learning & improvement and cross-functional collaboration
  • Implement and maintain methods for advanced budgeting, forecasting and performance tracking; establish a benchmarking process; and deepen knowledge and understanding of industry trends
  • Develop and implement adequate and aligned communication packages to present results, recommendations and solutions

Knowledge, Capabilities and Experience

  • Comprehensive business understanding of processes and structure
  • Very good analytical skills, managing large data quantities from multiple sources
  • Very strong financial controlling and accounting skills
  • Very good analytical skills in order to synthesize complex data and develop innovative solutions
  • Very good communication skills
  • Result orientated and pro-active with a high degree of customer orientation
  • Good understanding of end-to-end supply chains
  • Good understanding of performance management methods and improvement tools such as Balanced Scorecard, SCOR, SixSigma, Activity-Based-Costing et al.
  • Advanced user skills in SAP-FICO, Business Intelligence (SAP BW, IBM Cognos et al.)
  • Advanced MS Office skills, especially MS Excel, Access skills preferred
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), German is a plus

Qualifications

  1. University degree in Business Administration / Finance / Controlling / Logistics 
  2. 5+ years of work experience in related field; alternatively, Supply Chain Management experience preferred
  3. Knowledge of fast moving consumer goods, fashion industry and/or retail is an advantage
