About the department

Novo Nordisk’s Market Access and Public Affairs team engages diverse stakeholders across political and healthcare landscapes to forge solutions that drive patient access to innovative products. The job is located in the Algerian affiliate based in Algiers. As Market Access and Public Affairs (MAPA) Sr. Director you will report to the General Manager in Algeria and be a part of the local leadership team (LT). Our Market Access and Public Affairs professionals ensure that the latest therapies and products reach the people who need them most, by creating an environment where innovation and chronic disease management drive optimal health outcomes. The Position

The Senior Director of MAPA provides leadership and supervision to a team of market access and public affairs focused on either diabetes, obesity, rare endocrine, rare blood, and other serious chronic disease and develops and implements strategies that achieve organisational objectives.

In this position you will be responsible for the development and execution of coherent, efficient market access, external communication and public affairs strategies and tactics for the Novo Nordisk product portfolio, including diabetes, obesity, rare endocrine, rare blood and other serious chronic disease. You will be commercially responsible, with strong cross-functional support, for gaining access to innovation and maintain Novo Nordisk value.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a university degree, preferably within health/societal economics, or health care sciences with interest in health economics or political science.

  • You have good understanding of the Algerian health care system and stakeholders,
  • You have a solid experience from pharmaceutical industry or relevant health care authorities as well as strong business acumen.
  • A proven track record in market access, communication and public affairs is a requirement.
  • You enjoy working in a complex, changing, multinational and matrix environment, as well as experience with Algerian national authorities.

As a person you have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills as well as an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You have both solid strategic and analytical skills in addition to a proven ability to develop and execute

strategic business plans. Furthermore, you are a team-oriented leader with excellent communication skills and collaborative work style. Leadership experience and knowledge related to the relevant therapeutic areas is desirable. It is required that you are fluent in both spoken and written Arabic, French and English.
