We are looking for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Osteoporosis Sweden who is agile, with a drive to build strong lasting relationships and enthusiastic innovative mindset, to come join our fantastic Medical Immunology ABN Team (Alps, Benelux & Nordic), to be based in Sweden.

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a Medical Affairs professional and you are the key field-based scientific partner to healthcare providers and decision-makers, medical professional associations, and internal UCB colleagues in the country of Sweden, which is part of the area Alps-Benelux-Nordics (ABN). You are the local medical representative/scientific expert of a field cross-functional team. In this role you engage in peer-to-peer scientific exchanges relative to the assigned asset and therapeutic area osteoporosis throughout the product’s life-cycle and gather/share crucial insights which can inform business strategies and product development. Furthermore, you will be responsible for implementing key medical strategies to enhance and positively impact patient care, access and outcomes. And finally you build local medical plans, advisory boards and arranging scientific symposiums.

Who you’ll work with:

As the MSL Osteoporosis you are the scientific discussion partner that interacts with national and international Thought Leaders (Key opinion leaders: KOLs), and other healthcare professionals (HCPs) at various phases of the product life cycle. You work externally and internally, and closely with an integrated team across functions. You like to work independently with a team player approach. You report to the Field Medical Lead.

What will you do:

  • Agile and proactive identification and management of key scientific and medical influencers based on local ecosystem dynamics. Efficient territory management
  • Support market access from a scientific perspective through scientific exchanges with payors, hospital pharmacists and others
  • Maximize site performance and support clinical trials, non-interventional and other Real World Evidence (RWE) studies through the collection and communication of medical and scientific knowledge
  • Exploration and identification of new sources of patient value
  • Maintain and leverages strong and up to date therapeutic expertise (scientific, clinical, disease states, and treatment alternatives knowledge within the therapeutic area(s)) to, in the context of patient’s journey, support tactical execution of territory plan in line with key UCB medical strategies
  • Drives development of RWE in local eco-system and leverage the value to UCB solutions for patients to medical and payer communities.
  • Understands and engages with a wide range of stakeholders; proactively collaborates and networks with internal partners regionally and shares insights/best practices across the team

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • MSc. within field of Immunology/Life Sciences, PhD in PharmD or natural sciences is a big plus
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills.
  • Languages: Swedish and English (written and spoken)
  • Work experience as Medical Science Liaison is a big plus. However, we will consider other backgrounds fitting the profile
  • Having worked with biologics or have relevant clinical and therapeutic exposure is a big plus
  • Patient orientated and customer service mindset 
  • Influencing skills, by building trust, staying consistent and being assertive in a considerate way
  • Project management skills
