Role Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in assigned lines of business. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. A successful HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect the organization's business objectives. The position may include international human resource responsibilities. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture, and its competition. 

Responsibilities

  1. Infuse the Patch Values into your work ethic, every day and every interaction
  2. Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  3. Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  4. Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  5. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance with employment-related laws (Title VII, FLSA, ADAA, etc).. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  6. Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to people managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  7. Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  8. Manage all pieces of the employee lifecycle including onboarding and facilitating new hire orientation, employee relations, leave of absence, workers comp, training and development opportunities, retention, performance, and creating employee data reporting frequently, and as requested.
  9. Maintain confidential personnel files
  10. Special projects as assigned
  11. Benefits and Payroll liaison
  12. Training facilitation to include but not limited to NHO.
  13. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  1. BA/BS; or equivalent related experience.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  3. 5+ years of experience in HR with demonstrated growth and increased responsibilities.
  4. 2+ years’ experience in an HR Business Partner or HR Manager role preferred
  5. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR certification preferred
  6. Proven history of delivering results in an HR function
  7. Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment
  8. Experience with HRIS system databases.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  10. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. 
  11. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  12. Ability to comprehend, interpret, apply, and explain the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  13. Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  14. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  15. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  16. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
