Job Description

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer 

Position Summary: Litera is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help grow our development team. You will participate in the full SDLC from preliminary system analysis to testing and deployment. This hybrid-engineering role includes building high quality and fully performing software that meets quality 

and software development standards alongside a great team. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ability to work independently without instructions on most tasks, but knows when to ask for help 
  • Comfortable with recommending which modern software development techniques and methodologies to use 
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment and have a working experience with agile/scrum 
  • Enthusiastic about problem solving, digging into issues and owning tasks to completion 
  • Committed to exploring new tools, languages, and techniques on a regular basis 
  • Serve as a mentor to the junior engineers on the development team 
  • Write clean, maintainable code that is extensible with minimum number of defects 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PM, QA) to complete tasks 
  • Take ownership of product features from estimates to design and development 
  • Strong team player who is open to give and receive feedback 
  • A passion for technology and thrives in a dynamic environment with a focus on creative innovation over absolute completion 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 5+ years’ experience implementing backend solutions to real business problems 
  • Write clean, maintainable code that is extensible with minimum number of defects 
  • Ability to work independently without instructions on most tasks. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals 
  • Expert understanding of software development principles (object-oriented design, SOLID, etc.) 
  • Experience taking a project through its entire life cycle 
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment and have a working experience with Agile/Scrum 
  • Enthusiastic about problem solving, digging into issues and owning tasks to completion 
  • Strong team player who is open to give and receive feedback 
  • A passion for technology and thrives in a dynamic environment with a focus on creative innovation over absolute completion 

Required Skills (Backend):

  • Experience working with Python - 5 years minimum and at-least one framework Django / Flask / FastAPI.
  • Good understanding of data structures and data architecture principles; Experience working with at least SQL / NoSQL - 2 years minimum
  • Experience working with Elasticsearch - 1 year minimum; Good understanding of search engines / working with Lucene or Solr – an advantage 
  • Experience working in Linux environment 

Job Title: Software Engineer 

Major Advantages: 

  • Familiarity with Natural Language Processing toolkits and frameworks; prompt engineering and LLM (Open AI or Azure OpenAI)
  • Experience working with Docker 
  • Experience with Frontend development – HTML / JavaScript / React / Redux 

Other Advantages:

  • Experience with Machine Learning frameworks (SKlearn / TF / PyTorch) 
  • Experience working with Big Data technologies (Hadoop / Spark) 
  • Experience working with cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP) 
  • Experience with other programming languages (Go / Kotlin / Rust)
