ABOUT THE ROLE

  • HC SEA is a fast growing & dynamic 1.5bn euro business unit and accreditive in growth & profit to total Unilever Home Care. We are the biggest Home Care business in the region operating in 8 countries. We have an exciting strategy & financial growth model called One Plan for the next 3 years build on premiumization, superior innovations and unlocking new channels.
  • The Home Care Vietnam Finance & HC SEA Performance Management Lead is reporting to the Home Care SEA CFO and is an integrated role with two key responsibilities (1) leading the financial agenda of Home Care Vietnam by providing business support to the Home Care Vietnam Lead (2) driving the performance management across HC SEA working with the BULT. The role has six direct reports.
  • The role is a highly dynamic and exciting role. As the owner of your Business Unit’s P&L, you are responsible for supporting the business with a CFO mindset. The role typically includes supporting the business in defining the right strategies, managing business cases to support new launch decisions, monthly forecast update and performance analysis, drive strategic analysis to drive long term value creation. The goal is always to advise and support your business partners to deliver consistent, competitive, profitable, and responsible growth, in the short and long run.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the preparation & analysis of the in year financial performance of the Business Unit categories and brands in Home Care. This includes analysis of actual results, updating the financial forecast including financial S&OP & cash up, and budget controls on TTS, BMI and BU Overheads.
  • Lead the performance reviews at leadership team level, providing analysis to support on the financial trade-offs to deliver the Financial plan with one consistent voice back to the markets for execution. You will own the monthly performance review decks providing the right level of insight for the global & regional leadership team.
  • Facilitate the yearly & quarterly target setting with BU GM & CFO to ensure business KPIs are met.
  • Lead development of the 3 year financial strategic plan aligned to category strategy with a long term Financial Growth Model. Drive long term growth & profitability agenda for the business and actively participate in strategic planning and Value Creation.
  • Participate in core business meetings, provide financial advice and viewpoints, and provide support in meeting preparations as required. 
  • Facilitate & co-drive Fuel 4 Growth/Savings/Gross Margin Taskforce agenda in the country for HC Vietnam
  • Co-ordinate with SEA finance teams in matters relating to category business, as required, and support other financial analysis for SEA Home Care BU or Global/SEA HC Finance projects as needed.
  • Support in preparing certain reports (e.g. monthly, quarterly, ad-hoc requests for Global reporting submission) as required.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Drive business planning and agree next year’s Financial Framework with Leadership;
  • Manage in year business performance to deliver Financial Framework;
  • Drive long term business planning using the financial growth model (FGM);
  • Encourage a dynamic resource allocation among categories/brands;
  • Analyse results to identify trends and drive actions to address or take advantage of;
  • Variance Analysis versus prior year, previous forecast and framework
  • Manage risk and opportunity tradeoffs within categories/brand and channels;
  • Drive return on marketing investment (ROMI) & promotional efficiencies (TPA);
  • Interface with Supply Chain, R&D and Procurement to understand cost movements, and advise on pricing opportunities;
  • Support innovation process and track post launch evaluations;
  • Drive for process and reporting standardization/simplification;
  • Build team’s capability for continuous improvement
  • Ad Hoc projects as requested eg M&A activity, category recovery plans, etc

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree, in related field (e.g. Business/Finance/Economics/Accounting/etc.).
  • Relevant experiences preferred (e.g. FMCG/Finance Partnering/Auditing/etc.)
  • Experience of finance in developing markets
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience
  • Deployment of financial growth model and gross margin capabilities
  • Experience working on Brand building and/or Brand development finance
  • Professional qualification in finance with experience in operational and business partnering roles.
  • Excellent inter-personal and communicative skills
