About the Agency 

The NSW Reconstruction Authority (the Authority) is a statutory corporation. The Authority will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.

To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses, and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.

About the role 

As the IT Officer working in the IT Projects & Operations team, you will coordinate and undertake technical digital system, policy and project development, analysis and compliance activities to minimise risk for the Reconstruction Authority. In this role, you will perform regular security reviews and compliance testing to ensure adherence to the security framework and standards.

In addition, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing advice to employees and key stakeholders with insights on business needs and to resolve issues, regarding the status and contents of relative policies, processes and standards in an efficient and knowledgeable manner.
  • Driving the delivery of IT projects, including developing and monitoring project plans and briefs in order to ensure successful project milestones are met.
  • Providing a range of IT support services to meet the business needs of the team, including on-site IT support one day per week and support as and when required.

About you

  • Broad technical background covering a range of various technologies.
  • Significant experience in the coordination of, or leading IT projects.

As the successful applicant, you will demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an ICT discipline or equivalent experience.
  • The ability to proactively deliver project outcomes despite obstacles.
  • Ability to adapt and respond quickly in changing situations and willingness to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
