An overview of the role

Capgemini Invent Energy Transition and Utilities is the largest sector in our private portfolio, with a dominant brand position across all our five subsectors, however, our ambition doesn’t stop there. As part of this growth in demand, we are seeking an experienced senior leader to join our team of highly talented consultants, working on the identification, solutioning, pursuit and delivery of digital transformation consulting services across the sector as well as providing subject matter expertise, capability development and intellectual capital.

The work:

No matter the project or customer, your work will have a meaningful impact on society, businesses and lives. It’s really rewarding. And it’s also really varied. You’ll potentially work on a huge variety of projects (some larger than others), so you could gain lots of experience in a short amount of time.

Why this role?

Within the market, to meet the demands of both the regulators and increasingly savvy consumers, companies in the utilities industry across the UK are investing millions in Opex and Capex improvements and operational digital transformation. Given the scale of investment there is a very strong focus from regulators, investors, and the companies alike to ensure these programmes are identified, business cases justified, then delivered effectively to drive out efficiency at all levels and that the change is both adopted and sustained.

As a result, we are seeing a significant increase in demand for our teams who are already working with major utilities organisations. We have built a successful track record of identifying, solutioning and then delivering leading edge transformational digital change which is adopted and embedded into our clients and we are looking to further strengthen our dominant position. Capgemini brings to bear vast utilities experience, a strong business improvement skillset, business change capability, an understanding of technology and a highly collaborative approach.

As a Vice President in the business, you’ll help set the direction, identify big deal opportunities across the sub-sectors, driving forward the business, model our values and behaviours, and coach and develop junior members of the team.

Key expectations from this role include pro-active identification of large deal opportunities – from scaled PoC to market disrupting mega-plays. Alongside being a support to the sub-sector leads to successfully secure wins from RFPs and client generated opportunities. You will maintain a forward view of the larger deal pipeline and enable a foreseeable and profitable horizon.

We’d love to meet someone with:

  • Significant experience gained within Consulting within the Utilities and Energy sector.
  • Experience of proposition building and delivery across a complex portfolio
  • Experience of designing, selling and leading large complex programmes and delivering digital transformation services / projects.
  • Business development – utilising a combination of the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships, company relationships and your own network, you’ll be generating c.4m of consulting revenues.
  • Proven track record in delivering growth within the utilities sector.
  • Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions within the Utilities Sector
  • Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background.
