Modeling and Simulation Engineer (PEOC3T)

Bowhead is seeking a Modelling and Simulation Engineer to support the PEOC3T contract located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The Modeling and Simulation Engineer will provide support of line-of-sight transmission systems, beyond line-of-sight transmission systems, network modeling and other military C2 applications.

Responsibilities

  • Run analysis to support making technical trade decisions regarding communications systems
  • Design, configure, and operate a ProxMox environment
  • Design, configure, and operate a VMware environment
  • Design, configure, and operate an Azure Stack Hub, to include apps and containers
  • Implement Cisco based software defined networking (SD-WAN).
  • Manage and maintain the VM test bed
  • Provide engineering expertise in multiple CS component area to include:
  • PN TN transmission systems (HNR / NCW)
  • PM TN network systems
  • BFT Systems (JCR/JBC-P)
  • Nett Warrior (NW) and NW Mission Planning
  • Tactical Radio Systems
  • SDR planning/configuration tools
  • Mission Command Systems
  • Commercial SATCOM
  • Commercial LTE integration
  • Gateway Systems for data, transport, and networking
  • Technical Coordination with PMs
  • Provide tactical networking, transmission, and/or applications expertise
  • Converse and support soldiers at all echelons
  • Maintain formation type CS architecture documents, configurations, etc.
  • Integrate Radio/Network/SATCOM systems onto platforms

Qualifications

  • A relevant degree, professional qualifications, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of integration, configuration, and troubleshooting of CS systems that are currently being fielded to Army BCTs (PM TN systems, tactical radio systems, JCR/JBC-P, etc.)
  • In-depth experience in technical understanding and operation of the C4ISR systems mentioned above
  • Knowledge and understanding current/future Force tactical and strategic military communications networks, as well as the architecture, protocols, security, network management and physics underlying these systems
  • The ability to conduct technical coordination between PEO, PMs and units

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must have an active security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
