Main Purpose of Role:

Home Care SEA Business Unit (HC SEA BU) has a coverage of more than 1.3bEU TO. With iconic brands such as Breeze, Omo, Surf, Sunlight and more. In this role, you will be responsible for Procurement business partnering for our Vietnamese markets with a controllable spend of more than 250mEU. While each market in SEA is different, VN stands out by being the market where we have a strong heritage and track-record of bringing leading solutions to consumers who trust and love our brands and products. In this context, we are thus responsible to ensure that we give strong business solutions to adapt to the ever-changing market needs and keep our relevance and competitiveness strong.

You will use your business acumen to develop and drive a solid procurement strategy that helps to deliver sustainable growth, profitability, resilience and competitiveness to our business. You will have the opportunity to bring the right packaging, raw material and collaborative manufacturing solutions to the table, and will be supported by a global network of Procurement professionals and material specialists in developing the best solutions for your market.

In addition to the Indonesian market role, by being part of the wider Home Care SEA procurement team, you will also be assigned a X-region management responsibility (eg. CM, Sulfonation, Backward Integration, Competitiveness, Sustainability, etc) to put in practice your strategic procurement capabilities to make lasting impact in our network across SEA for the long term.

You will be reporting to the Head of Procurement – Home Care SEA. Beyond procurement, you will be working closely with cross function teams across supply chain, marketing, R&D and more, with very significant visibility and impact. So a strong sense of ownership, independence, communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills are a must.

Main Accountability

  • Procurement Strategy Development: Develop a comprehensive procurement strategy for MCL that aligns with the organization's overall objectives and maximizes growth potential in the respective markets.
  • Supply Resilience: Build and maintain a robust supply chain network, identifying potential risks and implementing contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted supply of goods and services across the MCL region.
  • Cost Improvement: Identify cost optimization opportunities, negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, and implement strategies to drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers in MCL, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, evaluating supplier performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Directly engage with the MCL Leadership team on various tasks and topics, aligning co-developed procurement priorities with the business plan to support overall organizational objectives.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, procurement policies, and ethical standards in MCL countries, providing guidance and training to team members as required.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing procurement team, providing coaching, mentorship, and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Experience Required:

  • University degree
  • At least 8 years' experience in Procurement or SC, with at least 5 years in Procurement as managerial level.
  • Experience on large-scale, cross functional projects leadership, change management.
  • Previous experience in FMCG / Home Care, or experience in commercial function or consultancy, will be a plus. Ability to learn and unlearn quickly a must.
  • Sourcing Direct &/or Indirect Spend, OR Procurement Leadership.
  • Business Story Telling: Strong ability to present complex topics in an effective and concise manner, effective strategic influencing at all levels, grounded through financial acumen and credibility.
  • Negotiation, Objection Management: Ability to find common ground and commercially acceptable solutions, with risk identification and management.
  • Team Leadership: Promote a shared vision and inspires others to embrace learning, experimentation, development.
  • Creative Problem Solving: awareness and intervention through the value chain to seek disruptive, impactful solutions.
  • Personal Effectiveness: Effective and proven strategic planning, ability to learn quickly, handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously, resilient and determined towards success. Calm in the face of ambiguity.
  • Familiarity with business and contract law as applied to supplier relationships.
  • Proficient with productivity tools, data analysis, create insights from data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Good command of English.
