Tech Lead and Automation Engineer for HR IT

We are looking for an energetic professional to join our Enterprise Information Technology team as an IT Tech Lead and Automation Engineer responsible for the development and execution of strategic initiatives and imperatives related to the Talent Management, Qualitative Science, Service Delivery, and Strategic Management product lines. This role will be responsible for closely partnering with key stakeholders in HR and IT to manage and deliver technology solutions and automation processes for multiple teams within our Enterprise IT organization. This role will also provide technical expertise, solution design, development, and support across various HR functions. Agile methodology and ways of working will be utilized to ensure efficient and effective delivery.

The IT Tech Lead and Automation Engineer is empowered and responsible for:

  • Gain deep subject-matter expertise of key HR business processes, systems, and data.
  • Collaborate closely with our HR stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver technology and automation solutions aligned with HR strategic goals and objectives.
  • Stay updated with emerging HR and automation technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance HR business processes.
  • Utilize agile methods and frameworks to drive efficient solution development and delivery.
  • Work closely with the product squads to translate business requirements into detailed product specifications and user stories.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within the IT functions.
  • Evaluate and recommend automation tools and technologies that align with our technology strategy and meet business needs.
  • Develop and implement automated solutions to streamline HR processes and enhance the user experience.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize automation processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Building, managing, mentoring, and coaching squads consisting of direct reports, indirect reports, and external partners.
  • Engaging with enterprise stakeholders, securing their input, and incorporating it into the work of the team.
  • Empowering the team to determine how to deliver development work most effectively and efficiently.
  • Grooming best-in-class product features with detailed analysis of impact vs. value.

The ideal candidate will have a cross-functional background and possess the skills and leadership to lead the development of the most important key initiatives across any or all segments based on the priorities for the product.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, with at least 2+ years of demonstrated technical leadership experience using Agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrable experience in designing, building, and supporting large scale IT solutions using modern technologies.
  • Experience with AI and automation technologies, such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Chatbots, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Machine Learning, PowerApps, or workflow automation tools.
  • Leadership skills, with proven abilities to set direction, lead and motivate team members.
  • Exceptional prioritization, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies.
  • Strong strategic and technical acumen; analytical, problem-solving, innovative, proactive, and self-directed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Critical thinker who can effectively embrace new ideas and technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish credibility and trust with a variety of stakeholders.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience with SaaS applications, such as Workday, ServiceNow, Microsoft Viva, Phenom People, and Visier
  • Experience motivating and leading teams with and without authority.
  • Experience leading and working on Agile teams and knowledge of Scrum framework.
  • Certified Scrum Product Manager.
